Terrace Inn and 1911 Restaurant
Over the decades there have been many reports of paranormal activity at this Victorian inn just north of the city of Petoskey. If you ask the desk clerk for the inn’s “Ghost Files”, they’ll hand over a thick folder with accou nts from past guests and employees. Based on the evidence we’ve recorded, it seems these reports may very well be true. After five years this historic inn, remains one of our most paranormally active locations.
There seem to be three prominent spirits that wander the inn. The first is a lady in white seen in the hallways and guest rooms. Could she be looking for the man in tweed, another ghostly apparition was seen on the balcony? Then there is the interactive youth, a lad of perhaps 12 or 14 years of age, who inhabits the basement. Our compelling recorded evidence and in-depth historical research lead us to believe we have identified these wandering spirits and why they may remain.
The Blair Witch Project was Filmed in Montgomery County.
The movie was filmed on location in only eight days, concluding on Halloween of 1997. Though the story is set in the village of Burkittsville in Frederick County, the majority of the film was shot in the woods of Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg.
Some scenes were also filmed in Wheaton. A source of local pride for Gaithersburg residents, “Blair Witch Heritage Hikes” have been held in past years at Seneca Creek State Park to celebrate the history of the film. Now would be a great time to explore the park yourself and observe famous movie landmarks like “Coffin Rock” to get in the spirit of the season.
Hoia-Baciu Forest, Romania
From the moment a military technician captured a photograph of a UFO hovering over this forest in 1968, Hoia-Baciu has gained paranormal notoriety around the world. The area has become known as the "Bermuda Triangle of Transylvania," as some believe it to be a portal that causes visitors to disappear.
Other people who have passed through the forest (without being zapped into another realm, that is) reported rashes, nausea, and feelings of anxiety. The curved trees in some parts of the area further lend to the off-putting aura of Hoia-Baciu.
